VI. Konavle Jeep adventure - full day 4X4 WD action with lunch and fun

The first part of the drive is taking part in the Konavle field, followed by ascension to Velji Do (app. 500 m above the sea level), a place with breathtaking view of the entire field, sea and the nearby islands. After a short break and descend, the drive is continued along the macadam road across the Konavle field. This part of the trip is relatively not difficult with a number of small and larger holes along the way.
Arround the village of Miljasi the road changes and the slightly harder stage starts with plenty of mud (dust in the summer). After a shorter drive the excursion stops at one clearing and makes a short pause. Here it is possible to organize the ROAP PULLING game (by JEEPs) or the ancient game of “KAMENA S RAMENA” (Throwing stone to distance from the shoulder).
The drive continues along the cow farm in Gruda and after 10 minutes or so, it reaches the Ljuta river which is being crossed at a specific 200 m wide shallow passage. After shorter drive through the park the tour arrives to a spot situated a little bit above the Ljuta village, where it is even possible to have a bath in exceptionaly clean and clear water.

The tour continues along the short stage through a small forest, and through the vineyards, peach and "šipak" orchards it arrives to the largest settlement in Konavle - Gruda. From there on it proceeds along the village road and along the interstate road for a very short period of time.
After crossing the interstate road, the tour starts ascending passing the Radovčići village and continues across the very narrow road (asfalt at first followed by macadam most of the stage) with few sharp ascending curves arriving to the mountain peak of Sv. Ilija (app. 560 m) where the Croatia’s most southern radio antenna-repetitor is located. At the very peak there is again a breathtaking view to Boka Kotorska (Montenegro) and to the open sea.

The descend follows, after shorter break, through the villages of Poljica and Mikulići (asfalt) to the most southern Croatian place by the sea - Molunat. The tour stops in Molunat for app. 1-1,5 hour (depending upon the participants’ wish) with possibility of bathing, refreshing and shorter break.
The tour continues through Račevo field and Pločice village and soon comes to the most challenging stage of the whole trip that runs through the bushes with multitude of ascensions and holes and very narrow road to the Vodovađa village where the tour makes a stop by one of the oldest water springs in Konavle for tour participants to enjoy in water degustation and beautiful view (even the island of Mljet can be seen from this point).

The short descend follows down to the small village of Zastolje and the Family house Šapro where the lunch is being organized. The lunch is held in an old mill-house which used to serve for the production of the olive oil and is in excellent condition. The house and the mill themselves are more than 300 years old. The lunch is genuine and typical for the region of Konavle. After the lunch the tour heads for a final short drive back to the hotel.
The total tour is around 100 km long (50% of which are the macadam roads and local roads through the fields). The trip duration is app. 7 – 8 hours. Seven jeeps at disposal (Nissan Terrano) each with 4 seats including the driver. First jeep is driven by a guiding instructor and the rest of the jeeps are driven by the participants.
