Wine & Olive Oil Trails
Croatians have a proverb saying: Bread is for the flesh, wine is for the soul. To treat your senses, we have picked authentic farm households refurbished in traditional Croatian style respecing natural materials, wood and stone. To treat your palate, we offer wine and olive oil trails, that can be enriched, depending on your request, by a honey-tour as well. Due to the red soil of our hinterlands, wine has a particulary rich bouquet and body. Two main grape varieties, malmsey and teran will be found in different flavours, both oaked and unoaked: from fruity and grass like aroma to citrus flavoured taste of malmsey to wild, pristine and ingenious teran, whose colour is deep red. A sweet beauty – Muscatel or more precise Muscatel from Momjan with its gold like colour and wild clove pink flavour, nicely fits desserts and delicacies.
Cooking Holiday Courses – Istria for bonvivants
We are inviting you to visit Istria, green peninsula called Croatian Tuscany or Provence of Croatia for its rich flavours and varied gastronomy. Medieval towns scattered accross a hilly landscape, with rural chic households and luxury small hotels, will be your home for a 3-7 days cooking course. From truffles and big game, to pasta and stews, via vegetable meals and fish dishes, Istria is a kingdom for bonvivants. Cooking courses are seasonal and thematic. The food at our cooking courses is supplied from local farms, both meat and vegetables. In addition to the cooking classes that will take a few hours during morning, we will take you to wine cellars following wine roads, organize olive oil degustation for you and suggest cultural itineraries for the afternoons.
