CITY TOUR OF KOPER AND PIRAN

Koper is the biggest commercial port in Slovenia. Sights in Koper include the 15th-century Praetorian Palace in Venetian Gothic style, the 12th century Carmine Rotunda church, and the Cathedral of St Nazarius with its 14th century tower. Departure from the port Koper to Piran. This wonderful panorama of the Piran peninsula from the west offers a view of the Cape of Piran stretching far into the sea. On the left are the salt works of Strunjan and farther in the distance the coastal towns of Izola and Koper. The archives reflect a rich historical tradition that reaches back to the Roman Empire. The old seaport of Piran lies at the end of the Piran peninsula; it was surrounded by walls in the Middle Ages (200 meters of the city walls are still preserved). The whole town is protected as a cultural and historical monument and it has preserved its medieval layout with narrow streets and compact houses, which rise in steps from the coastal lowland into the hills and give the whole area a typical Mediterranean look.

POSTOJNA & LIPICA

Full day excursion to the neighbouring Slovenia and a visit to the famed Postojna Cave, the biggest and the most visited underground cave in Europe. Walking and driving through the subterranean corridors and halls covered in beautiful cave shapes (lasting approximately 90 minutes). Free time for lunch. On the way back we will visit Lipica and the famous horse farm, where 400 years long tradition of Lipica horses breeding and training continues today. We recommend sports wear and shoes. Having passport is obligatory.

TRIESTE & MIRAMAR

Triest, the largest of the Adriatic ports and the merchants' crossroad of the European path to the South, is known for its numerous cultural and historical monuments, palaces and churches and (is) also (known) as a shopping centre. There is something of interest for everyone in Triest: the magnificent architecture, the comfortable restaurants, the typical Italian cafeterias and the exceptionally wide choice offered by the shops of Triest. On a guided walking tour you are taken through the town's old streets, to an ancient Roman theatre, to some of the churches and to beautiful squares. In your free time you have a chance to explore the town by yourself, to do some shopping and take (have) a break for lunch.

POSTOJNA CAVES & PREDJAMA CASTLE

Today we will take you to the biggest and worldwide known Slovenian cave system - the Postojna caves. A two million years old and 27 km long system of subterranean caves is one of the most easily accessible network of underground caves in the world. A ride by electrical train will be followed by a guided walk through a series of cave halls with drop stones, pillars and translucent curtains that create unforgettable impressions. The underworld system is a home of the mysterious, unique and rare amphibian Proteus Anguinus, or human fish as it is popularly called here. Only 9 km away stands one of the most interesting baroque castles of Slovenia, the Predjama castle. It hangs dramatically in the middle of 123 m high rocky cliff.

ISTRIAN WINE TRAILS

The excursion to Istrian inland, quiet hilly area covered with beautiful vineyards on the sunny slopes of fertile Istrian land. Hard working local people have been growing vine for centuries which resulted with distinct and acknowledged Istrian wines. A visit to the Istrian cellar with a short lecture on production of autochthonous Istrian wines of which white wine Malvazija, a symbol of Istria that has not changed for a century, and black wine Teran stand out.

LJUBLJANA & BLED

Take a trip to the capital of Slovenia, to the city where old meets new. Discover the baroque old town with its bridges, churches, palaces, open squares and sidewalk cafes. The open-air market around the St. Nicholas Cathedral is just like the city itself, colourful and full of life.
Bled is often mentioned as the pearl of the Alpine region due to its emerald-green lake, a church on the island in the middle of the lake and a medieval castle from the 11th century on a cliff above the lake.
